Children’s Mental Health Week

At Ewen’s Room, we believe every child should have the tools they need to understand and care for their mental wellbeing – not just during Children’s Mental Health Week, but all year round. That’s why we’re sharing our resources from Children’s Mental Health Week here on our Blog.

This year’s campaign, led by Place2Be, focused on the powerful theme: “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.” It’s all about helping children and young people explore who they are, how they feel, and what helps them thrive – and that’s exactly what we set out to support.

Hands-On Wellbeing: Our Video Series for Kids

To mark the week, we created a series of mental health and wellbeing videos filled with practical, playful, and hands-on activities designed to help children:

  • Build self-awareness
  • Understand and manage their emotions
  • Practice calming, creative techniques
  • And grow their confidence from the inside out

From breathing exercises and sensory play to fun crafts and movement-based tools, each video is an easy and accessible way to support children’s mental health in everyday life.

These videos are still available and can be used any time, at home, in school, or in community settings. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, youth worker or carer – we hope you’ll find them a helpful resource.

We Teach These Skills All Year Round

At Ewen’s Room, supporting children’s mental health isn’t a one-week event – it’s part of what we do every day.

We embed emotional wellbeing into our regular sessions for children and young people, including:

  • Wellbeing Heroes – our in-school programme teaching resilience and self-awareness
  • Wellbeing Champions – empowering young people to support peers
  • Bookbug and Stories Around the Fire – using storytelling, play, and connection to nurture emotional growth
  • Building Natural Capital and Healthy Young Minds- using research skills to support mental health outdoors

Through these programmes, we help children build strong foundations in emotional literacy, mindfulness, and self-care – tools they’ll carry with them for life.

Let’s Keep Growing Together

Whether it’s watching a calming video, taking part in a Wellbeing Heroes session, or simply having a chat about feelings, every small step helps children get to know themselves better – and grow stronger because of it.
