Meet the Trustees
We have a diverse board of Trustees who are leaders in their fields, appointed because of their commitment to mental health and their experience and skills, which enable them to undertake the responsibilities of trusteeship of a professional and complex charity. They ensure we make the best use of our funds and continue conducting research and activities exclusively to pursue our charitable objectives.
They play a vital role in ensuring the proper procedures and policies are in place to effectively manage the charity’s resources, provide a long-term vision, and protect our reputation and values.
Meet the Trustees

Ewen was Malcolm and Rosie’s son. Malcolm leads our charity in Ewen’s memory with passion and dedication for young people and residents of Lochaber.

Rosie Gillespie
Co-Founder
Rosie is Ewen’s mum and joint founder of Ewen’s Room. As a former peripatetic music and drama teacher in primary schools, her passion for working with young folk is why she is so happy to see our amazing team delivering sessions of all sorts in the schools across Lochaber.

Kathleen (Kath) MacKenzie
Treasurer
Kath’s background in social security and as national insurance and business compliance inspector sets her up perfectly as treasurer for Ewen’s Room.

Jean Whitton

Having been involved in Open Doors since her arrival in Acharacle, Jean bring her HR management skills to the board.

Izzy Buchan

Izzy is a Physio Therapist based in Acharacle, and with a young family, she is familiar with the needs of children and young people on the peninsula.
